How do I recover my data if the computer cannot be accessed?

Unable to Boot

If you are unable to boot your computer then there are a couple of options you can do to recover your device with NeuShield:

  1. You can boot to the Windows Recovery Environment and restore the system to a NeuShield snapshot to recover it.  See here:  How to run NeuRestore when a system does not boot
  2. You can remove the hard drive out of the computer and plug it into another computer that has NeuShield on it and recover the data from that other computer.

Note: if you are plugging your old hard drive into a new device then it is recommended for you to add the protected folders on the old hard drive into the new device.  For example, if you protected the “C:\Testing” folder on the old device and the drive appears as the D:\ drive on the new device then you will need to add the “D:\Testing” folder into the new device as a protected folder.

Unable to Log on

If you are unable to log into your computer then you can use the remote One-Click Restore, as long as the computer is able to access the Internet, to restore the computer to a previous working state.
