What happens when you disable a NeuShield installer?

Each installer is signed with a certificate that allows it to connect back to the correct NeuShield account. However, once the certificate expires the installer will be disabled, typically after 2 years. Additionally, an admin can manually disable the installer in case the installer leaks out into the Internet.

If someone tries to install NeuShield using a disabled installer it will not connect to your account.  The end result will be a device running the Free Edition of NeuShield.

To see a list of installers (enabled and disabled) follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the NeuShield Portal.
  2. Go to the “Download & Activation” tab.
  3. Click the “Manage account client installers” link.
  4. From this link you should be able to see a table of the serial number of all your installers and the status of each installer.

Note: if an installer has been disabled you can download a new installer from the portal that will have a new serial number from the “Download & Activation” tab.
