Activating the Client

To obtain the full benefit of NeuShield Data Sentinel on a device, you will need to activate it by associating this device with your NeuShield account. Here are 3 methods you can choose from:

Method #1: (Recommended and easiest)

Whether you are a Home user with multiple devices or a Business user managing countless devices in multiple locations, ease of installing and registering a new software is very important. To accomplish this deployment task, you want to take full advantage of the included Home or Business edition (web) installer (filename: neuinstaller.exe) from your NeuShield account.

The benefit of using web installer are as follow:

  1. This Installer is less than 1MB in size.
  2. It will detect and determine if it needs to perform an installation of NeuShield Data Sentinel.
  3. It will ensure you have the latest version of NeuShield Data Sentinel installed.  If you don’t have the latest, it will auto-download and upgrade to the latest version.
  4. Automatically activate the Home or Business features and register the devices to your NeuShield account.

To obtain this Home or Business edition installer:

  1. Go to NeuShield Portal: https://my.neushield.net/
  2. Sign-in with your registered account.
  3. Click on ‘Download and Activate’ on the left navigation menu.
  4. Click on the ‘Download Home or Business Edition installer’ button to download the installer.
  5. Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the screen instruction to complete the installation.
  6. Congratulation, you’re all set!

Note: To perform additional installation, simply transfer the neuinstaller.exe to the supported device(s) and install the software.

Method #2: (Using 6-digit code)

  1. Open your browser and go to https://my.neushield.net/
  2. Sign in using your registered account for NeuShield Portal.
  3. On the left Navigation menu, click on ‘Activate New Client’
  4. Click on ‘Using a 6-digit activation code’ to continue.
  5. Then Click on ‘Generate code’ to obtain a temporary 6-digit activation code.
  6. With the code obtained, now double click on NeuShield Data Sentinel desktop icon or the system tray icon.
  7. Click the more icon (it looks like three dots in a column) on the upper right corner.
  8. Select ‘Activate’ to continue
  9. Apply the generated 6-digit code and click ‘OK’ to continue.
  10. To ensure the device is being managed by the proper NeuShield account, you will see a “Consent” message.
  11. If the provided email is correct, click ‘OK’ to continue.
  12. Congratulation! You have now activated NeuShield Data Sentinel on this device.

Method #3:

  1. Start the application by double click on NeuShield Data Sentinel desktop icon or the system tray icon.
  2. Once opened, click on ‘Upgrade your edition’ button.
  3. Your default browser (i.e. Chrome, Firefox) will open and automatically direct you to https://my.neushield.net/
  4. Select ‘Add this Device’ to continue.
  5. Click on the ‘Sign in’ tab to continue.
  6. Sign in using your registered account for the NeuShield Portal.
  7. Once signed in, you will be prompted to a message ‘Do you want to add…’
  8. Click ‘Yes’ and the NeuShield Data Sentinel on this device will automatically be upgraded to the Home or Business edition.
  9. Congratulation! You have now activated NeuShield Data Sentinel on this device.
