Whenever you change a policy on the NeuShield portal the Policy Version number will also change. You can see it on the upper right-hand corner of the Data Sentinel Settings tab. Then on the client you can see the Policy Version on the About page.
To verify that the client has the latest policy verify that the Policy Version number on the client matches the portal. The client will typically get updated policies in around 5 seconds if connected to the Internet.
- Get the Policy Version number on the portal:
- Login to the NeuShield portal.
- Go to the "Data Sentinel Settings" tab.
- If you have multiple groups setup then select your group by clicking the "Default" text in the title.
- View the Policy Version number on the portal.
- Get the Policy Version number on the client:
- On the client device open the NeuShield GUI.
- Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the GUI, this will bring up a menu.
- Click on the "About" item.
- View the Policy Version number on the client.
- If the two numbers match then the client has the latest policy.

Note: you need to reopen the About page to see the new Policy Version number because it will not update the GUI dynamically.
If the client does not get the policy it most likely means one of three things:
- The client is not connected to the Internet (or the traffic to the portal is blocked);
- The policy for the group/tenant this particular client is in was not updated (i.e. a policy for a different group/tenant was updated); or
- The client service is not functioning correctly (i.e. service is hung or not started).
