Protecting OneDrive:
By default, NeuShield is able to detect the OneDrive and OneDrive for Business folders and automatically protect these folders for every user on a computer. NeuShield is able to do this in the same way it is able to protect any other folder.
How Shared OneDrive Folders are Protected:
NeuShield is able to protect OneDrive by detecting when a file is about to change (either by the local user or the remote user) and storing that change on an overlay, allowing you to undo the change at a later time. If the change is done by a different user than the change comes down from the Internet through OneDrive itself. If the change is done by the current user than the change is done in whatever application the user is using, such as Microsoft Office or other application and then OneDrive will push that change back up to the cloud. It does not matter if the change happens from the local user or remote user, it is the same to NeuShield.
Recommended Settings:
It is recommend to disable the “Files On-Demand” option, to make recovery possible. When the the “Files On-Demand” option is enabled then the file contents are deflated and stored only in the cloud. Since the file contents are not stored locally, NeuShield is not actually protecting any real data. However, when you disable “Files On-Demand” then all the OneDrive files are cached locally, which allows NeuShield to protect and recover these files.
